We all have questions and doubts, even Jennie the web designer. If you find yourself thinking “she must be booked out,” take note she is human like the rest of us! Things like imposter syndrome and insecurities show up in all of our lives. In Jennie’s words, self-doubt comes up for clients especially in the beginning. Sometimes it is in the form of niche drama. Jennie shares “drama sounds negative” so prefers to call it niche exploration and views it as a right of passage. Oh the power of words—what if we could see our doubts and questions as rites of passage? How much richer would our experience be and how much more would we treasure it? Listen as we discuss how we can have faith and go “all in” and take our doubts and questions with us. You can connect with Jennie at https://jennielakenan.com.

This is meagan skidmore host of the Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt podcast. Welcome to episode 20, Self-doubt with Jennie Lakenan. As a certified life coach I work with lgbtq+ family of a cons faith background. As a lgbtq+ parent who comes from a conservative faith background, the LDS church there have been a lot of questions and doubts come up on this journey. I started this podcast in an effort to normalize asking questions and having doubts. Thank you for joining today.
Hey everybody welcome to the Beyond a shadow of a Doubt Podcast
In a recent episode (#15) I share, “If you find fault with something or someone, you look for mistakes and complain about them. A cynic is a person who always finds fault in others. Synonyms of find fault: charge, condemn, criticize. So there is HUGE difference between having questions and doubts about things/self/others and being critical and condemning about them.”
In your work how does this show up (doubts) w/ clients— as mom, spouse, friend, family member daught/aunt
Can be protective mechanism
If I’m having doubts like about your daughter, could be me protective as a mom
Good things, propels growth as humans
As life coaches, we are taught the rule of 50/50- how does this apply to having Ds/asking Qs? Put on glasses of 50/50 sheds diff light on it. There’s supposed to be there.
Jennie the web designer must be booked out, still have insecurities,
My goal: normalize Qs/Ds
Bringing up Qs/Ds – in public spaces—it’s different for everyone
More of a reflection of them…..really
share what that is like for you, the internal dialogue that happens esp at first.
What does living beyond the shadow of doubt mean to you?
