It’s June and Pride month! I’m dropping a series of amazing interviews with some AWESOME guests this month! If you haven’t subscribed to my podcast, now is the time so you don’t miss a single one!
First off is Reverend Dr. Neil Thomas who currently serves as lead pastor at the Cathedral of Hope, an open and affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ. Rev. Neil talks about his journey as an openly gay Christian minister advocating for a more inclusive church based on love.
In a recent message to his congregation, Rev. Thomas wrote:
‘Often it is our personal experience of the presence of God and encounter with the divine that helps us to believe that God is more than just a theology or someone else’s experience. When it becomes personal, it creates an experience memory that enables us to believe that God is journeying with us through good and not so good.’ In our interview, he then elaborates on how he has experienced the Divine personally.
Additionally he shared:
“…there is some magic in those moments when you realize that this is beyond just a human experience. We really are spiritual beings having this human experience and how do we relate to that? How do we allow that to be all that it can be? Because we’re only here for a short period of time and my hope is that I’ll leave the world better than I found it.”
May we all work towards leaving this world better than we found it.

The The Beyond the Shadow of Doubt™ podcast is a proud member of the Dialogue Podcast Network found at DialogueJournal.com/podcastnetwork. Part of the Dialogue Journal, the Dialogue Podcast Network was founded by Eugene England, a Mormon writer, teacher and scholar. “My faith encourages my curiosity and awe,” Gene wrote in the very first issue of the journal. “It thrusts me out into relationship with all creation” and “encourages me to enter into dialogue.” My hope is that this podcast is an extension of his vision.
